Grumpy Santa
The holiday season is a busy one at the malls and in the airports, with millions of people rushing around to visit friends and family. As the situation with airlines has become increasing complicated with delayed flights and close-to-full flights, travelers are becoming increasingly grumpy.
FareCompare is taking a tongue-in-cheek stance on this situation and unleashing the Grumpy Santa.
Grumpy Santa will be embarking on a series of flights for 12 days straight, to all 48 contiguous states in the US, passing on tidbits of wisdom and lessons learned when you fly during the holiday season. You can keep up to date by checking out Santa’s Excellent Adventure.
Vegas Baby, Vegas and the Luxury Travel Expo
Despite my world travels, until last week, I had never made it to Las Vegas. Although I hear about it weekly from friends and have seen the flyovers on TV, nothing could prepare me for the craziness that is the Vegas Strip.
I flew down on Tuesday morning with Carol to attend the Luxury Travel Expo – a three day conference that discusses the latest trends in the industry with a large, two-day exhibitor show. We stayed at Mandalay Bay but I was able to gawk the fountains at the Bellagio, drink at Studio 54 in the MGM Grand, dine at Paris and take in Phantom at the Venetian. Still, there is a lot more for me to see and I look forward to returning for pure fun and excess instead of classes and business.
